The VMRC was opened in November 2009. The facility is a premier 23,000 square foot recreation facility featuring 24/7 access (with membership) to a large gymnasium, elevated walking/running track, multi-purpose activity room, fitness/weights area, locker rooms. Facility also has a veterans’ area, outpatient rehab clinic, and offices. Through the VMRC, the Garner Parks and Recreation Department offers a group fitness class, youth and adult sports, other programming, and a variety of special events and rentals.
